These are almost always the first three words to come out of a brokers mouth when looking for a potential place of business.  Knowing your target group and your competition will give
you the information you need to pick out a great location.

Type in the name of the business you are considering purchasing.  Once the information comes up regarding that business, click on What's Nearby.  Scroll down to Eateries
and then click Restaurants.  This will give you a list of
restaurants and their distance from your potential site.  If you don't know the name, you may search by category and city.
You can redefine those results by additional categories,
such as General Information, Services and Menu Items.

Check out this website for a brief demographics report
about the area surrounding your potential site for your
restaurant.  This information will allow you to better
understand your target group.  For instance, if the
demographics report shows a population of mostly under
35 year olds, then you would not want to put a restaurant
that is going to appeal to a crowd over 35 years of age.
Click on Free Data and enter the zip code of the potential
site.  It will bring up the demographics report for that area.
